More semantics

Deputy fired 30 shots from rifle in killing 6, officials say

CRANDON, Wisconsin (CNN) -- An off-duty sheriff's deputy used a police-style AR-15 rifle to kill six people at an early morning party in a small Wisconsin town, officials said Monday.

........

Peterson left and got a police-style AR-15 rifle from his truck, forced his way back into the apartment and fired about 30 rounds ...

Um, a "police-style AR-15 rifle" ???? Is that the same thing as an "assault rifle" or is it just an "assault rifle" when somebody other than a cop flips out and empties a mag at a bunch of partygoers?

Just askin'.

I mean, hey - maybe it had a 14.5 inch barrel. Maybe it was actually select-fire.

But I doubt it.

"Police-style AR-15"? "Assault rifle"? I'm sure only a qualified journalist has the expertise to know the difference.

As the t-shirt says:

Rope. Tree. Journalist.

Some assembly required.
